DIAM! – What Silence Carries
DIAM! – What Silence Carries, by Tjaka Tomas.
On Saturday 3 October, multidisciplinary artist Tjaka Tomas launches ‘Diam! — what silence carries’, exploring the echoes between Zeeland and Maluku through sound, seascapes, docks and Tifa rhythm.
The project takes place as our final ‘Oemoemenoe’ edition for the year, where Vleeshal goes on location with artists around Zeeland. It begins with a live performance in collaboration with Stichting Mae Uku Tifa Group, and continues through the autumn in collaboration with sound researcher and theorist meLê Yamomo.
It will culminate in a final presentation in collaboration with Stichting Mae Uku, as part of the closing programme of Vleeshal’s autumn exhibition by Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn.
‘Diam! — what silence carries’ is supported by AIR Zeeland with Regio Deal North Sea Port District / Provincie Zeeland.
